Excerpt from the liner notes of the cd:
“The Night Has A Thousand Eyes” is a fascinating, mutually focused dialogue between Tornow’s expressive voice and Baumli’s multi-faceted guitar. Baumli occasionally layered tracks in the studio to combine rhythm and solo guitar, in order to push the limits of their improvisational music. “But only in such a manner that we can play it live with a loop pedal, that was important to me, he says.” That is also very much in the jazz tradition, the best of the best meeting in jam sessions and surrendering the big themes to the magic of the moment.

Beat Baumli Baden, Switzerland

Starting out by playing Rock and Blues, Beat took up jazz guitar after being inspired by Wes Montgomery. From 1980 to 87 he studied at Swiss Jazz School in Bern (CH) and Berklee College Of Music in Boston (USA).
